X-ray film plays a vital role in medical imaging and industry, and its development can be traced back to its discovery and research in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The following are the major milestones in the history of X-ray film:

1895: German physicist Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen discovered X-rays. This discovery sparked extensive research into the properties and applications of X-rays.

1896: French physicist Henri Becquerel discovered the radioactive elements polonium and radium. These discoveries shed further light on X-ray research.

1896: German physicist Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen used X-rays to take the first human X-ray images, pioneering the use of X-rays in medical imaging.

Early 20th century: The development of X-ray film began, initially using a glass plate as a base coated with a photosensitive emulsion. This film required processing in darkness and long exposure times.

1920s: X-ray film preparation techniques gradually improved, resulting in more sensitive and easier-to-process X-ray films, making X-ray imaging more convenient and efficient.

1950s: Automated processing technology was introduced, standardizing and accelerating the development and fixing of X-ray film.

Late 20th century to early 21st century: With the development of digital imaging technology, digital X-ray imaging systems gradually replaced traditional X-ray film imaging. Digital X-ray imaging systems offer advantages such as higher resolution and convenient image storage and transmission.
