Key to Dry Thermal Printers

Aug 15, 2025 Leave a message

The key to thermal printing technology lies in the heating element. The thermal printer's core features a densely packed array of tiny semiconductor elements, ranging in resolution from 200 to 600 DPI. When a certain current flows through these elements, they quickly generate high temperatures. When the thermal paper's coating encounters these elements, the temperature rises rapidly, triggering a chemical reaction that produces color.

After receiving print data, a thermal printer converts it into a bitmap. Then, according to the dots in the bitmap, the current is controlled to flow through the heating elements on the printer core, transforming the print data into printed content on the paper.
