Classification of Dry Thermal Printers

Thermal printers can be categorized into line-type thermal printers (Thermal Line Dot System) and column-type thermal printers (Thermal Serial Dot System) based on the arrangement of their thermal elements. Column-type thermal printers are early products, primarily used in applications where printing speed is less critical. Some domestic authors have incorporated them into their products. Line-type thermal printers, a technology from the 1990s, offer significantly faster printing speeds, reaching a maximum of 230 mm/s. High-speed thermal printing requires not only a high-speed thermal print head but also a compatible control board.
